Senior Director Human Resources - Puerto Rico Site Lead

About the role

Amgen is looking for a Senior Director Human Resources to lead HR at its Puerto Rico manufacturing site, Amgen Manufacturing Limited LLC (AML). AML is the company's flagship manufacturing site, employing over 3,000 people across a 1.7 million square foot campus covering drug substance, drug product, quality, supply chain, engineering, process development, packaging and distribution. The role reports to the Executive Director of HR, Manufacturing, with a dotted line to the Site Vice President.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site's talent strategy, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee value proposition and corporate talent programs, and advise the site leadership team on HR strategy, culture, leadership, talent management, rewards and change management.
• Guide a large team of HR professionals, including HR business partners, with coaching and career development.
• Drive integration initiatives and organizational change efforts, and partner with COEs on site programs.
• Ensure compliance with local employment law and manage complex employee relations matters.
• Build partnerships with local trade schools, universities and government entities for workforce development, and represent Amgen externally to attract talent.
• Oversee HR processes such as onboarding, performance evaluation, compensation planning, career development and manager coaching and training.
• Take part in HR leadership networks and share insights on HR trends.

Required profile

• One of: doctorate and 5 years of HR experience, master's and 9 years, or bachelor's and 11 years of HR experience.
• At least 5 years of direct people management or team leadership experience.
• Preferred: 15+ years of strategic HR experience in a large global or multinational organization, and extensive HR leadership in a multinational setting.
• Preferred: experience in a highly regulated manufacturing or life sciences environment (GMP experience strongly preferred), and prior Puerto Rico experience is a plus.
