Community Outreach Specialist – HIV Prevention and PrEP

About the role

The Community Outreach Specialist will join the Division of Public Health to identify and recruit individuals at higher risk of HIV, promote PrEP services, and lead community education activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach plans to increase awareness of HIV prevention, PrEP, and counseling options.
• Identify PrEP‑eligible individuals through events, screenings, and referrals, and coordinate their linkage to services.
• Collaborate with community organizations, leaders, and service providers to tailor interventions for priority populations.
• Conduct workshops, presentations, and orientation sessions on HIV, STIs, PrEP, and available resources.
• Coordinate with the Mobile Unit for rapid testing and facilitate referrals to the PrEP program.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on outreach effectiveness, maintaining accurate records and inventory of educational materials and preventive supplies.

Required profile

• Experience in community outreach, public health, or HIV prevention programs.
• Strong ability to work with diverse populations and build partnerships with local stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HIV, STI, and PrEP prevention strategies.
• Ability to manage data collection, reporting, and inventory control.
