Director of Finance / Controller

About the role

The company is a newly established, well‑capitalized sales and consumer financing firm seeking a hands‑on leader to build its finance function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all financial operations and manage a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and prepare financial statements.
• Oversee accounting for the customer loan portfolio, including loan accounting and servicing.
• Manage treasury activities, cash forecasting, liquidity and banking relationships.
• Establish accounting policies, internal controls and scalable financial processes.
• Support budgeting, financial analysis, management reporting and oversee accounts payable/receivable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience managing or coordinating a monthly financial close and handling confidential financial information with high integrity.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial systems and loan‑servicing platforms.
• Strong professional English communication; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• CPA or CPA‑track experience preferred.
• Knowledge of treasury, cash‑management and internal controls.
