Senior Auto Claims Analyst

About the role

The Senior Auto Claims Analyst is a senior individual contributor who governs claim outcomes, coverage interpretation and operational consistency for vehicle service contract programs and other auto-related products. The role provides technical authority, analytical leadership and escalation oversight so that claims are handled accurately, consistently and in line with contract terms, regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for coverage interpretation, exception handling and complex claims, and act as the final escalation point for high-risk or precedent-setting cases.
• Determine appropriate repair measures and set adjudication standards and decision frameworks to ensure consistency across teams.
• Oversight and quality enablement of offshore adjudication teams through case reviews, calibration sessions and thematic deep dives, driving corrective actions and training updates.
• Analyze claims data on frequency, severity, leakage and repair practices, turn findings into recommendations, support forecasting of volume and severity, and partner with leadership, analytics and finance on reporting.
• Govern client-owned repair facilities: monitor adherence to contract, quality and cost controls, and identify improvements in cycle time, accuracy and cost containment.
• Support internal audits, quality assurance reviews and regulatory inquiries, identify control weaknesses and contribute to remediation plans.
• Maintain training materials, job aids and knowledge resources, and contribute to continuous improvement across claims and repair networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or Insurance.
• 5+ years of experience in auto claims, extended warranties or vehicle service contract administration.
• Proven ability to influence distributed or offshore teams without direct supervisory authority.

Required skills

• Expertise interpreting vehicle service contracts, exclusions and endorsements.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, repair diagnostics, labor guides and repair facility workflows.
• Experience analyzing claims data and turning insights into operational or governance improvements.
• Familiarity with state regulatory requirements for vehicle service contracts or insurance-adjacent products.
