Financial Controller – Hybrid/Remote (San Juan, PR)

About the role

We’re hiring a Controller to run the core accounting engine for Del Mar Vacations and act as a strategic right‑hand to the Chief Technology and Finance Officer. This hybrid/remote role is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 1‑2 days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end monthly close, including schedule, checklists, reconciliations and final reporting.
• Maintain clean revenue recognition, accruals, prepaid schedules and balance‑sheet hygiene.
• Build and enforce internal controls to reduce fraud, error and financial surprises, keeping the company audit‑ready year‑round.
• Produce monthly financial packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs) with variance explanations for leadership.
• Provide cash visibility, manage working‑capital rhythms and oversee A/P and A/R workflow health.
• Coordinate tax filings and compliance with external partners.
• Optimize the accounting tech stack (QuickBooks Online, Divvy, Guesty, HubSpot, ZuperTax) and create SOPs across departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in high‑transaction hospitality or property‑management environments.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience in an operational setting.
• Proven ability to run close, controls, forecasting and executive‑level reporting.
• Clear communicator who can translate financial results into actionable narratives.
