Global Commodity Manager

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Global Commodity Manager in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, in its Supply Chain & Operations area. The role is hybrid, with an average of two days per week spent in an HPE office. It covers execution of commodity and category strategies worldwide, procurement policies and tactics, and coordination with engineering, manufacturing and business units to maintain planned inventory levels, assure supply and meet service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise for priority or new assignments with strategic implications, leading or taking part in cross-functional teams
• Develop and introduce new processes, program solutions and methods, and lead continuous improvement
• Analyze owned programs, metrics and process-oriented tasks, using independent judgment to improve current areas
• Work across functions to develop solutions and maintain and enhance business processes
• Provide strategic development, analytic and strategic support to drive organizational goals
• Mentor and guide lower-level contributors
• Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives across the company's businesses and/or geographies

Required profile

• First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
• Typically 6-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain
• Global procurement experience strongly preferred

Required skills

• Strong strategic sourcing and commodity management experience, preferably in the electronics/semiconductor industry
• Good understanding of electronic components, supplier ecosystems and technology roadmaps
• Commercial and negotiation skills, including cost analysis and supplier strategy
• Ability to manage supply risk, shortages and complex supplier escalations
• Strong analytical, data-driven decision-making and partnership skills with engineering, suppliers, EMS/ODM partners and cross-functional stakeholders
