Global Commodity Manager Mechanical

About the role

The Global Commodity Manager Mechanical will develop and execute worldwide commodity strategies for mechanical and thermal components, supporting HPE’s edge‑to‑cloud solutions. This hybrid position requires on‑site work about two days per week at the Aguadilla office.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive commodity strategies for sheet‑metal, die‑cast, heatsinks, liquid cooling, fans and related technologies.
• Lead sourcing activities, negotiate NDAs, Master Purchase Agreements, SOWs and joint development agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, scorecard suppliers and conduct business reviews with HPE and supplier executives.
• Develop cost models, should‑cost analyses and lead value‑engineering initiatives.
• Support both new‑product introduction (NPI) and sustaining business through RFIs, RFPs and supplier awards.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of sourcing, manufacturing or engineering experience, preferably in telecom/networking equipment.
• BS in Mechanical, Thermal, Materials Science or related field; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
• Strong analytical, technical and business‑application skills with proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent English communication, both oral and written.
