Localization Project Manager

About the role

This position reports to the Manufacturing Unit Manager and acts as the interface between the Procurement and Engineering teams. It drives procurement knowledge (market, suppliers, external intelligence) into the development process to optimize engineering cost, quality and technology, and translates engineering requests into procurement parameters for execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all procurement activities for Research and Development projects.
• Act as the link between the technology project team, local division Procurement teams and division Procurement Category Managers, ensuring project information is shared across teams.
• Manage procurement gate model activities, arrange project procurement gate meetings and maintain project procurement documents.
• Estimate initial cost and quality and achieve product cost and quality targets, optimizing them throughout development, including investment and test costs.
• Work with local Procurement and Category Managers to identify new potential materials and suppliers for critical materials.
• Select prototype and final production material suppliers in line with cost, product footprint and procurement strategy, while ensuring sustainable quality and cost.
• Manage ordering and on-time delivery of prototype parts directly with suppliers, aligned to the project development and testing plan.
• Support the development of new lower-cost suppliers that meet the required level of quality and on-time delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials Science or related).
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Development, R&D support, Supplier Quality or Project Management.
• Experience working with managers, making presentations and reports.
• Ability to comply with Quality rules (including ISO 9001), HSE (including ISO 14001, 50001, VPP) and Human Resources policies.

Required skills

• PC knowledge and proficiency in MS Office, Oracle and similar tools.
