Mechanical Operator - Technician

About the role

Mentor Technical Group is seeking a Mechanical Operator‑Technician to support critical utilities in a regulated life‑science manufacturing environment. The role involves monitoring, operating, and maintaining a range of mechanical and utility systems to ensure continuous, compliant production.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and repair the co‑generation (COGEN) system, AHU, chilled water and cooling tower equipment.
• Maintain humidity control, automation, air compressors, clean utilities, freezers and drinking water systems.
• Perform water‑chemistry testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and general repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Conduct inspections, test secondary containment (dams) and report any spills or deviations.
• Record boiler, generator and fire‑pump operating hours, fuel consumption and ensure flow‑meter calibration.

Required profile

• Technical College Electrician degree or equivalent technical education.
• Physical ability to lift 25‑35 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally, and to work in humid, noisy, confined spaces.
• Comfortable standing, climbing ladders, and working near moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards.

Required skills
