Senior Director Human Resources – Site Lead

About the role

Amgen is seeking a senior HR leader to drive talent strategy and culture for its flagship manufacturing site in Puerto Rico, supporting a workforce of over 3,000 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a large HR team, providing coaching, development and career growth opportunities.
• Partner with site leadership on workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee value proposition and inclusion strategies.
• Drive integration initiatives and organizational change to support business growth.
• Serve as trusted advisor to senior leaders on HR strategy, culture, talent management, rewards and change management.
• Oversee employee‑relations, compliance with local employment law and complex employee matters.
• Build partnerships with local trade schools, universities and government for workforce development.
• Manage HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance evaluation, compensation planning and career development.
• Collaborate with global HR centers of excellence to align local initiatives with global strategy.

Required profile

• Doctorate, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least 5‑11 years of HR experience, plus 5 years of people‑management experience.
• 15+ years of progressive, strategic HR experience in a large global or multinational organization.
• Experience leading HR in a highly regulated manufacturing or life‑sciences environment, preferably GMP.
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, transformation and to translate enterprise strategy into site‑level actions.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decisions.
