Senior Scientist, Quality Control

About the role

AbbVie is hiring a full-time Senior Scientist, Quality Control. The role performs laboratory testing in a GMP environment supporting raw materials, in-process product, finished product, stability and/or validation, and interprets data to determine conformance with product specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain GMP compliance for laboratory records, procedures and systems, and propose and implement changes to keep them up to date
• Perform analytical test methods as written to support product or material release, and troubleshoot analytical techniques and instrument issues independently
• Interpret experimental data and identify laboratory technique or instrumental performance issues
• Initiate exception documents and propose scientific protocols to determine the cause of exceptions
• Train other laboratory personnel on techniques covered in the training matrix

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a science field (Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry) with 6 years of experience, or Master's degree with 4 years, or PhD with 2 years in a related field
• Excellent writing skills in Spanish and English
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and to maintain required certifications

• Command of multiple laboratory techniques with minimal error
