Value Engineering Technical Manager

About the role

The Value Engineering Technical Manager will lead VE initiatives across HPE manufacturing partners in EMEA and APAC, driving cost‑reduction, manufacturability and quality improvements while maintaining product performance and reliability. This hybrid role requires working on‑site at an HPE office two days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead VE projects and workshops across ODMs and CMs, reviewing BOMs and designs to identify part reduction, material substitution and process modifications.
• Develop VE proposals with cost‑benefit analysis, ROI and risk assessments for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with R&D, sustaining engineering, quality, procurement and production teams to implement approved cost‑reduction changes.
• Track and report VE savings against targets, maintain a database of VE ideas and mentor VE program managers.

Required profile

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in value engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• 8+ years of people‑management experience.
• Technical background in networking product design and development.
• PMP or higher certification.

Required skills

• Value Engineering methodology and cost modeling.
• ODM/EMS engagement and manufacturing processes for networking/Telco hardware.
• Project management and cross‑functional facilitation.
• Strong analytical and data‑modelling abilities.
