Civil Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Civil Engineer will manage transportation infrastructure projects, overseeing technical, administrative, and financial aspects to ensure compliance with quality, safety, budgetary, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from planning through execution, coordinating with regulatory agencies, contractors, and consultants.
• Conduct site inspections, evaluate bids, and ensure compliance with design standards, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, risk assessments, and progress reports.
• Develop technical reports, impact analyses, and documentation for submission to the Puerto Rico Highways and Transportation Authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum five years of experience in road and bridge projects.
• Active EIT license, OSHA 30‑Hour certification, and a valid driver’s license.
• Fluent in Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to supervise contractors, consultants, and external engineering teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using CAD and GIS platforms.
• Familiarity with project management systems and budgeting tools.
