Diagnostics Technical Specialist

About the role

The Diagnostics Technical Specialist provides onsite support to veterinary clinics, research laboratories, and academic settings across Puerto Rico. The role focuses on implementing, training, and troubleshooting Zoetis veterinary diagnostics products to ensure customer satisfaction and business health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver post‑sale product installation, validation, and applications training to accelerate adoption.
• Execute onboarding journeys for point‑of‑care diagnostics, virtual labs, and reference lab services.
• Identify workflow pain points, design improvements, and increase product utilization.
• Respond to technical support requests, coordinate escalations, and resolve complex system issues.
• Balance urgent visits with planned utilization using territory management tools.
• Drive consumable usage through consultative training and value‑based recommendations.
• Generate qualified leads for new analyzers and reference lab opportunities.
• Collaborate with area business managers, diagnostic consultants, and field partners to protect and grow the customer base.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel up to 90% of the work week within the Puerto Rico territory.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 60 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of animal disease states and veterinary clinic processes.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and auto insurance.
