GMP Technician – Cleanroom Operations (Puerto Rico)

About the role

The GMP Technician ensures that assigned cleanroom areas remain tidy, sanitized, and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Working closely with team members, the technician follows written and verbal instructions to maintain a safe and controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clean and orderly GMP work areas, including walls, floors, windows, and equipment.
• Perform repetitive sanitization tasks and follow all customer and SBM SOPs.
• Use proper personal protective equipment and adhere to gowning procedures.
• Complete daily FN logs, work orders, and punch‑list items accurately.
• Support shift lead with work‑order completion and act as a fill‑in during staff shortages.
• Report maintenance issues, perform shutdown cleaning, and ensure equipment upkeep.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus; valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs, manuals, and safety instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Cleaning equipment operation and maintenance.
• GMP sanitation procedures and proper gowning.
• Forklift operation (if certified).
• Safety certifications, including chemical safety.
