Infrastructure Engineer (CloudOps/DevOps)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join its CloudOps/DevOps team, providing hands-on operational support in a dynamic and evolving environment. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing lab and infrastructure operations, with a solid foundation in physical infrastructure, virtualization and automation. It is a hybrid position, with an expectation of working about 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure lab equipment, including rack/stack, cabling, power and connectivity setup.
• Manage lab storage, including provisioning, monitoring and operational support.
• Oversee hypervisor management, including health checks, day-to-day operations and issue triage.
• Monitor and maintain compute, storage and edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
• Execute Ansible-based automation workflows for remediation and recovery.
• Support and enforce lab network security controls and protocols, following runbooks, operational procedures and security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Practical experience with physical infrastructure setup and management.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms and hypervisors.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and storage monitoring tools.
• Foundational knowledge of network security practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills, able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
