Manager, Contracts

About the role

LUMA Energy is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead its Contracts team. The Manager, Contracts will oversee the full contract lifecycle, ensuring that all agreements are drafted, negotiated, executed and recorded in compliance with corporate policies and Puerto Rican regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the preparation, negotiation, execution and amendment of contracts to guarantee timely and accurate agreements.
• Monitor contract drafting, wording changes, and terms to maintain consistency, quality and legal compliance.
• Ensure proper execution, documentation and registration of contracts, including filing with the Puerto Rico Office of the Comptroller.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, allocate resources, and define performance KPIs.
• Lead, coach and develop team members to improve collaboration, engagement and productivity.
• Oversee restoration and emergency‑preparedness planning to strengthen operational resilience.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor and admission to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
• Minimum five years of legal experience with at least three years supervising staff, budgets and projects.
• Proven ability to manage day‑to‑day operations, define work plans and achieve departmental objectives.
• Bar admission and a valid driver’s license.
