Medical Records Technician

About the role

Advantmed is seeking enthusiastic Medical Records Technicians to support healthcare facilities by scanning and organizing patient records. This hybrid, seasonal position offers a foot‑in‑the‑door opportunity in the growing healthcare technology sector.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organize patient information using electronic systems.
• Create digital copies of paperwork and ensure records are accurate, complete, and HIPAA‑compliant.
• Travel to medical facilities with company‑provided laptop and portable scanner to retrieve records.
• Interact with medical staff and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license, clean vehicle record, and personal car with insurance.
• Ability to drive 60‑80 miles round‑trip and lift up to 25 lb.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Available 08:00‑17:00 in local time zone.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Intermediate knowledge of medical chart structure and terminology.
• Competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Basic PC skills and ability to troubleshoot printers and scanners.

What we offer

• $11 per hour or $1.75 per record, whichever is higher.
• Paid mileage, travel expense reimbursement, $50 daily food allowance when out of state, and covered flight, hotel, and rental car if required.
