Senior Engineer Specialist – Civil/Transportation

About the role

ProSidian Consulting is seeking a Senior Engineer Specialist in Civil/Transportation Engineering to provide engineering support for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Region IV Puerto Rico Office. The role involves delivering technical assistance, grant management, and project oversight for mass‑transit systems across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance and assistance to FTA program managers on capital projects and grants, covering pre‑award and post‑award phases.
• Conduct onsite visits during grant development, review applications for compliance, and assess cost estimates, schedules, risk, and specialized studies.
• Perform post‑award inspections, coordinate site visits, review contracts and invoices, and ensure adherence to grant terms.
• Serve as the technical subject‑matter expert for rail, bus, and ferry systems, supporting primary and sub‑recipients of FTA funding.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong technical vocabulary in transportation engineering.
• Experience working with government agencies or large‑scale transit projects, preferably within the FTA framework.
• Ability to work onsite at the DOT FTA Region IV Puerto Rico Satellite Office and travel within the CONUS Region 4, Southeast, and Caribbean as needed.
