Software Intern

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is recruiting a Software Intern in Aguadilla. The role is designed as hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. The intern designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools, and helps determine hardware compatibility.

Key responsibilities

• Code enhancements, updates and changes for subsystems of systems software such as operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases and Internet tools.
• Run established test plans and protocols, identify, log and debug assigned issues.
• Build relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software system design and development.
• Work as part of a project team of software systems engineers and partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.

Required profile

• Working towards a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent field.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platforms.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Experience or understanding of software systems design tools and languages.
• Understanding of basic testing, coding and debugging procedures.
