Maintenance Leader (Plant Operations)

About the role

Greif is seeking a Maintenance Leader to oversee all maintenance activities at its San Juan plant. The role ensures that equipment, machines, and critical systems run safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Establish autonomous maintenance practices and lead Lean/OPEX projects to boost plant performance.
• Conduct technical analyses to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage supplier contracts, focusing on cost and quality optimization.
• Track execution of maintenance plans, resolve technical issues, and drive safety and quality improvements.
• Review maintenance KPIs monthly and lead corrective action plans.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the maintenance team.
• Control spare‑part inventory to ensure equipment continuity.
• Supervise lockout/tagout activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Apply SMED principles to reduce mold and model changeover times.

Required profile

• Advanced or completed university degree in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of TPM, TPS, Lean, and OPEX methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with plant leadership, operations, and external vendors.
