Engineering Manager - UI Software Development (Security Director Cloud & On-Premise)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an Engineering Manager for its UI software development team behind Security Director Cloud and Security Director On-Prem, cloud-native security management platforms for Juniper SRX firewalls and SASE. The role combines people leadership, technical direction, architecture oversight and execution ownership. It is designed as hybrid, with about two days per week in an HPE office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of UI engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, quality and customer impact.
• Own the UI technology roadmap, architecture and execution strategy across the two products.
• Drive delivery of scalable, responsive and interactive web applications and dashboards.
• Work with Product Management and UX to turn customer requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, technical planning and release execution.
• Promote modern UI practices, reusable component libraries, design systems and Micro-Frontend architectures.
• Ensure quality through code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, security best practices and engineering governance.
• Collaborate with cloud, platform, backend, DevOps and QA teams, and run Agile sprints, estimation and risk management.
• Coach future technical leaders and take part in hiring, onboarding, workforce planning and retention.
• Influence product direction and technology investments through technical leadership and business insight.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 12+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Proven UI engineering experience and experience leading globally distributed teams across geographies and time zones.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale products from conception to production.
• Nice to have: experience in security, networking, SASE, NGFW or Zero Trust, NMS or security management platforms, UI modernization or design-system transformation, and AIOps, observability and monitoring platforms.
