Software Engineer - Quality Assurance

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Software Engineer (Quality Assurance) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The role is designed as onsite, with the expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. It involves setting and maintaining quality standards for company products through systematic processes, developing and executing software test strategies, plans and suites, and consulting with development engineers on problem resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Design quality assurance and test processes for parts of end-user applications, systems software and firmware running on local, networked and Internet-based platforms.
• Analyze designs and determine the test scripts, coding, automation and integration needed, then execute and write testing plans, protocols and documentation.
• Identify and debug code issues and suggest changes or improvements.
• Work with other QA engineers and outsourced development partners to build reliable, cost-effective testing solutions.
• Communicate with partners about design status, project progress and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Typically 2-4 years of experience.
• Ability to attend team meetings three times a week at early or late hours to support international teams and customers.
• U.S. citizenship required, as the role covers services in a FedRAMP High compliant environment.

Required skills

• Use of software quality assurance tools and processes.
• Software testing methodology, including test plan execution, debugging and test scripts and tools.
• Understanding of software and firmware design across multiple platform types.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and the local language.
