Field Clinical Specialist TAVI (Puerto Rico)

About the role

Edwards Lifesciences, whose THV business unit partners with cardiologists and clinical teams on transcatheter aortic heart valve replacement (TAVR), is looking for a Field Clinical Specialist TAVI based in Puerto Rico. The role supports clinical investigations, trains physicians and hospital staff, and works with sales on account growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clinical education materials for clinical investigations and provide expertise on the device, procedure and protocol throughout the investigation lifecycle.
• Certify centers, physicians, related staff and EW personnel according to EW SOPs, and interact with KOLs and proctors.
• Train physicians, hospital personnel and staff on device handling, implantation and troubleshooting, and run ad hoc and in-service education programs.
• Provide follow-up support during commercial procedures so that education and technical support continue.
• Plan and implement growth strategies in focused accounts with Sales and Sales Management, and support upselling in key strategic accounts with Business Managers.
• Validate software and hardware updates in the field, and review clinical support activities, market changes, assigned accounts and competitor activity with the NSM and the Sales Specialist.

Required profile

• 3 years of previous related medical device and/or clinical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Preferred: training experience in a clinical or technical environment.
• Bilingual Spanish and English.
• COVID-19 vaccination required for patient-facing and in-hospital roles, unless a medical or religious accommodation is granted.

Required skills

• Proven expertise in MS Office Suite and ability to operate general office machinery.
• Good written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Moderate knowledge of cardiovascular science, anatomy, pathology and physiology, and of medical device regulatory requirements and adverse event reporting.
• Ability to manage confidential information, competing priorities and to work in teams across departments.
