Junior Algorithmic Trader

About the role

Join GO Tropical’s fast‑growing trading team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and work alongside senior algorithmic traders to develop and operate relative‑value arbitrage strategies. This junior position offers hands‑on experience with high‑frequency tick data, quantitative modeling, and production‑grade trading software.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior traders in all aspects of automated trading, from data analysis to strategy deployment.
• Research market microstructure and high‑frequency tick data to improve trading models.
• Develop, code, and maintain production‑quality C++ and Python trading software.
• Perform post‑trade analysis and build prediction models to enhance execution.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in a technical field with graduation between Dec 2026 and Spring 2027, or 1‑2 years relevant experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 and coursework in data structures, probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
• Strong passion for financial markets, demonstrated through personal trading, competitions, or related internships.

Required skills

• Proficiency in object‑oriented programming languages: Python, C++, and optionally Java.
• Experience with Linux scripting.
