About the role

Alpha is hiring a Reading Interventionist to design and deliver adaptive reading workshops for early elementary students in Dorado, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on phonics, fluency, and comprehension using AI‑adaptive tools and data‑driven instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver adaptive reading workshops building phonics, comprehension, and fluency skills.
• Design personalized motivational sessions using gamified literacy milestones.
• Analyze student progress data to refine instruction and provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom results.
• Develop scalable AI‑enhanced content enabling K‑2 students to achieve grade‑level proficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s in reading instruction or a structured‑literacy certification (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS).
• At least 2 years recent full‑time K‑2 structured reading instruction experience using systematic phonics or structured literacy.
• Ability to administer and analyze reading assessments, group students, and design differentiated lessons without a scripted curriculum.
• Energetic, engaging presence with K‑2 students; fluency in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with AI or adaptive learning tools and willingness to adapt as tools evolve.
• Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico without sponsorship and willingness to work onsite in Dorado.
