Repairs Field Technician – Level I (Central Zone)

About the role

The Repairs Field Technician – Level I provides on‑site installation, configuration, repair and support for WorldNet’s telecommunications infrastructure and customer premises equipment. This entry‑level position works directly with customers across the Central Zone to ensure reliable voice, data and security services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and configure CAT3, CAT5e, CAT6 cabling, modular connectors and WorldNet‑approved CPE.
• Deploy and maintain voice services such as POTS, Hosted PBX, SIP lines, PRI, SIP trunk and DID.
• Install, troubleshoot and update cyber‑security appliances, firewalls and security policies.
• Set up and service internet and data circuits including PPPoE, dedicated lines, T1, fiber optic and wireless links.
• Perform testing on DS1/DS3 circuits, process LNP port‑ins and conduct site surveys.
• Collaborate with ISP, engineering and repair divisions to resolve network issues using tools like Wireshark, Hammer and SAS.

Required profile

• Associated Degree in Telecommunications, Telephony or Electronic Technology (preferred) with at least two years of related experience, or equivalent training.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites, follow on‑call policies and complete documentation such as job acceptance forms and equipment labeling.

Required skills

• Installation, diagnosis and repair of telephony, VoIP, internet, data and firewall systems.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switching, routing) and basic routing protocol knowledge (BGP, OSPF).
• Structured cabling expertise and relevant certifications.
• PBX installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with transport technologies and testing equipment (DACS, Sunset).
• MTCNA certification and proficiency with diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Hammer, SAS).
