About the role
The Banquet Manager will lead all banquet operations at Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, ensuring each event delivers exceptional service and profitability. This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage leadership team and works closely with sales, culinary, and operations staff.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and post‑event evaluation of all banquet functions.
- Maintain profitable operations by controlling revenue, payroll, and productivity budgets.
- Promote business growth through ideas that increase bookings and reduce employee turnover.
- Ensure consistent high‑quality service standards across all banquet events.
- Collaborate with culinary and service teams to meet guest expectations.
Required profile
- Four‑year college degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in hotel or related hospitality field.
- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
- Ability to work long hours and perform moderate physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lb occasionally).
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of service standards and various service styles (e.g., French, Russian).
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with health department regulations and liquor laws.
