Job description
About the role
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Big Deals Partner Manager (also described as a Big Deals Commercial Lead) to drive the commercial, cost, capacity and supply-chain execution needed to support large, strategic customer opportunities. The role leads cross-functional planning from NPI through FRS and sustaining production, aligning product-cost roadmaps, manufacturing readiness and supplier commercial models with deal requirements, customer pricing and margin objectives. It is a hybrid position, with about two days per week working from an HPE office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the supply-chain commercial workstream for major customer deals, turning deal scope, volume, timing, configuration and regional requirements into executable cost, capacity and supplier plans.
- Negotiate MVA savings and strategic commercial initiatives with EMS/ODM partners, such as shipment-based rebates, consignment models and split-MVA structures.
- Partner with EMS/ODM suppliers and internal teams to ensure factory capacity, equipment, labor, technical capability and headcount are in place for deal requirements and ramp schedules.
- Coordinate end-to-end cost-reduction efforts with GCM, NPI, BU/PLM, Engineering, Operations, Finance, suppliers and Value Engineering teams, and develop product-cost projections to support pricing decisions.
- Define when negotiated savings and cost-reduction actions are recognized in product pricing, and create and maintain a cost-reduction roadmap with value, timing, owner, dependencies, status and expected financial recognition.
- Lead weekly reviews of costing, savings commitments, risks, capacity readiness and cost-reduction progress with senior leadership and key stakeholders, and establish a standardized reporting format.
- Identify gaps early, develop recovery plans and keep commercial assumptions, supplier commitments, capacity plans and cost projections aligned as customer requirements change.
- Provide executive-level recommendations on deal economics, supplier strategy, implementation timing and risks affecting pricing, margin or delivery.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Operations or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, commercial management, product-cost management, strategic sourcing or large-deal execution.
- Proven experience negotiating with ODM, CM, EMS or JDM manufacturing partners on MVA, rebates, consignment and pricing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-value, cross-functional initiatives with aggressive cost, margin, capacity and schedule requirements.
- Experience developing cost models, savings roadmaps, projections and financial scenarios for pricing decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence a global, matrixed organization without direct authority.
- Mastery of English and the local language.
Required skills
- Strong understanding of product cost structures, manufacturing economics, component costs, NPI, FRS and sustaining production.
- Financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills, able to turn detailed cost actions into executive-level insights.
What we offer
- A comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits package for team members and their loved ones.
- Personal and professional development programs tailored to career goals.
- An inclusive workplace with flexibility to manage work and personal needs.
